Joey Halverson leads operations and strategy for the Orca-class vessels, overseeing safety, vessel management and service reliability for the fleet of roll-on/roll-off ships serving the Alaska market. Joey’s background includes work in marine terminals, onboard vessels and in shipyards; this diverse experience gives him valuable insight as he supports one of the nation’s most important Jones Act trades.
Joey has extensive experience with the Orca-class vessels, having previously served as Port Engineer and Director of Ship Management. Prior to becoming Vice President of Marine Operations for TOTE Services, Joey was Vice President of Operations for our sister company, TOTE Maritime Alaska. In that role, he led the operations team, implemented processes to improve efficiency and strengthened the company’s safety culture.
Joey holds a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering systems from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and a master’s degree in business administration from Boise State University.
