As Program Manager for the National Security Multi-Mission Vessel (NSMV) fleet, Brian Murray oversees the new-build training ships for state maritime academies throughout the country.
These state-of-the-art training vessels, owned by the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) provide world-class training to mariners throughout the United States. In his role, Brian works closely with MARAD and each academy to ensure these vessels remain operationally ready to undertake a mission.
Brian joined TOTE Services in 2021 as Fleet Port Captain and later became SMS Manager. In his time in the safety department, he led the team in internal auditing and regulatory compliance processes.
Before joining TOTE Services, Brian spent 10 years at sea as a licensed deck officer, including two years as Captain, before transitioning to a shoreside role in passenger vessel operations.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in marine environmental science from SUNY Maritime College and a U.S. Coast Guard license as Master of Unlimited Tonnage Vessels Upon Oceans. Originally from New York, Brian later moved to Florida and now resides in Ponte Vedra Beach with his wife and two daughters.
