Effective January 1, 2014 TOTE Services, Inc. will be reorganized to absorb the Vessel Operations Department from Totem Ocean Trailer Express, Inc. and assume responsibility for the full technical management and crewing for the Totem Ocean Trailer Express and Sea Star Line cargo fleets.
Phil Morrell, as Vice President for Marine Operations (Commercial) in the new TOTE Services organization, will be responsible for oversight of the technical management of the Totem Ocean and Sea Star Line fleets in Tacoma, Washington and Jacksonville, Florida. This group will also support new construction activities for the TOTE Shipholdings, Inc.’s Marlin-class LNG-powered cargo vessels now being built at the NASSCO yard in San Diego and oversee technical support for the conversion of the existing Totem Ocean ORCA-class fleet to LNG power plants.
Lee Peterson will become the Director for the Marine Services Department and oversee purchasing, safety and compliance, and other support functions that will be merged into the new TOTE Services organization at the first of the year.
Mitch Walker, as Vice President for Marine Operations (Government), will continue to be responsible for vessel management of all Government and ancillary vessels.
This reorganization concentrates all of the crewing and technical marine management of the TOTE, Inc. vessels in TOTE Services.
Phil Greene, President of TOTE Services, said of the new organization, “We are excited to combine these ship management functions in the TOTE Services organization and are looking forward to achieving additional efficiencies and streamlined support processes that will benefit the entire TOTE organization.” Mr. Greene also stated, ” We are pursuing plans to relocate TOTE Services headquarters from New Jersey to Jacksonville, Florida in mid-2014.”
